On chewers and calories
No rubber toy is indestructible; check it over regularly and replace it once pieces come away. Whatever goes inside counts as part of the day's food, so take it off the dinner portion. And never use peanut butter sweetened with xylitol, which is toxic to dogs even in small amounts.
Why we chose it
The channel runs deep through the middle rather than sitting as a shallow dip, so filling has to be dug for instead of licked out. Freeze it stuffed and the same handful of food lasts a good deal longer.

Full description
A chew that empties in two minutes is not enrichment, it is a snack. Packing the central channel of this bone with something that takes work to get out — wet food, peanut butter, soaked kibble — turns a handful of treats into a job that occupies a dog for a decent stretch, which is exactly what you want before a video call starts or when the crate door closes for the evening.
It is moulded rubber with enough give to be comfortable on teeth and enough resistance to be worth chewing, and the surface carries raised nubs that scrape at plaque while the dog works. The channel runs deep through the middle rather than sitting as a shallow dip, so filling stays put and has to be dug for. Freeze it once stuffed and the same amount of food will last a good deal longer than it does at room temperature.

Who it's for: Dogs who need something to do rather than something to eat — crate training, home-alone stretches, and chewers who need redirecting away from the skirting board.
