Full description

Rice in a product name sounds reassuring, but the ingredient list decides whether the chew contains grain. T. Forrest & Sons Filled Bone Lamb & Rice is a dog chew or treat, complementary rather than complete, sold individually: the price is for one filled bone.

The composition is British beef bone, biscuit, animal fat, maize, flour and food dye. The analysis is protein 22.2%, oil 6.8%, fibre 5.1% and ash 63.5%.

The source conflict. The grain-free wording conflicts with the biscuit, maize and flour in the ingredient list, so we treat the chew as containing grain and leave out the disputed natural and additive claims. Supervise feeding and provide fresh water.

Who it's for: owners choosing a chew for dogs who want the ingredients, analysis and physical suitability checked before buying.

Why we chose it

The deciding fact is the composition: British beef bone, biscuit, animal fat, maize, flour and food dye. I keep the complementary status and pack format beside it so the buyer can judge the treat without relying on flavour-first marketing.
