A soft carrier bag sags the moment you set it down, and the animal inside feels every knock through the fabric. A rigid shell does not. It holds its shape whether it is on your back, on the vet's floor or wedged in a footwell, so nothing presses in on your pet. The door is perforated with paw-shaped cut-outs, which keeps air moving through the case constantly rather than only when a flap is open.

The straps are padded and adjustable, which matters more than it sounds once you are carrying a cat plus a rigid case up a flight of stairs, because narrow webbing digs into the shoulders within minutes. The shell does the protecting and the padding does the carrying. Ventilation is the thing to watch with any enclosed carrier, and a perforated door on a hard case will always move more air than a mesh panel that can collapse against your pet's face.

On sizing: the manufacturer publishes no internal measurements for this carrier and we will not invent them. What decides the fit is body length from nose to tail base, and whether your pet can turn around and sit up inside. Some cats never accept an enclosed capsule, so introduce it at home with the door open first.

Who it's for: Owners of small cats and small dogs who need a protective, well-ventilated carrier for vet trips and travel and would rather wear it on their back than carry it in one hand.
