Rawhide-free tells you what a chew isn't, which is only useful once you know what it actually is instead.

These are chewy sticks with an inner layer of chicken and an outer wrap, made from 41% chicken breast alongside wheat flour, maize starch, glycerol, minerals and small amounts of pea powder (3.6%), sweet potato powder (1.1%), chicken liver (0.25%) and carrot powder (0.1%). The manufacturer recommends one chew a day, at no more than 10% of a dog's daily calorie intake — each chew averages 70.5 kcal, with the amount varying by dog size from XS to XL.

On portion control. Feeding is capped at one chew a day and no more than 10% of daily calories — at 70.5 kcal a chew that's a meaningful addition for a small dog's daily total, so it's worth counting rather than treating it as calorie-free just because it isn't a meal.

Who it's for: owners looking for a rawhide-free chew with chicken as the largest single ingredient, for a dog whose size falls somewhere in the XS-to-XL feeding guide.
