A flavour printed on a dog chew is a marketing decision, and it doesn't always match which ingredient the recipe actually contains most of.

This one is called Beef Flavour, but the composition lists chicken at 16% and beef at 4% — chicken outweighs beef four to one. The base is cereals and vegetable derivatives around that meat content, and it's a low-fat chew: crude fat sits at just 0.8%, with protein at 10%, fibre at 1% and moisture at 14%. It's sized for mini and toy dogs under 6kg, and eight chews come in a pack.

• Chicken 16%, beef 4% — despite the "Beef Flavour" name
• Protein 10%, fat 0.8%, fibre 1%, moisture 14%
• Sized for mini/toy dogs under 6kg
• 8 chews per pack
• Vitamin E and trace minerals added
• Sold as a complementary chew, not a meal

On the name. "Beef Flavour" suggests beef is the headline ingredient, but chicken (16%) is four times the amount of beef (4%) in the recipe. If beef specifically is what you're buying it for — because of a preference or an intolerance to chicken — the composition doesn't back the name up.

Who it's for: owners of a mini or toy dog under 6kg wanting a low-fat chew, rather than anyone choosing it specifically for its beef content or avoiding chicken.
