A toy that moves unpredictably on its own is a better match for a cat's hunting instinct than one that only moves when the cat pushes it, which is the whole idea behind mounting a plush character on a spring.

This toy sets a soft plush bee character, with colourful matching feathers, on a wobbly spring base, so it dances and wobbles unpredictably with every swat. A wide, stable base is built in to keep it upright through vigorous play, and it comes in three assorted colours.

• Wobbly spring base
• Soft plush bee body with feathers
• Wide, stable base for vigorous play
• Colours: yellow, blue and orange

One thing worth knowing. No overall size or weight is given for the toy, so we can't tell you how it will scale against your cat compared with other teaser toys.

Who it's for: cats that hunt by batting and pouncing, and owners after a toy that keeps moving on its own rather than one that needs constant handling.
