Cats do not scratch the sofa at random. They pick one corner, work it every day, and no amount of moving a post to the other side of the room changes their mind, because the location is the whole point. It is a scent and stretch marker in a place that matters to them. The only reliable fix is to cover the exact spot they have chosen with something better to scratch.

That is what this does. It is a flat pad of sisal and loop carpet with hook-and-loop fastening, so it wraps around a sofa arm, a chair leg, a table leg or a stair post and stays where you put it. Two surfaces in one pad is more useful than it sounds: sisal takes the hard vertical drag, loop carpet suits the cats who prefer something softer underfoot, and between them most cats find a texture they will actually use.

• Sisal and loop carpet scratching surfaces
• Hook-and-loop fastening wraps around legs, arms and posts
• Two colours: brown or grey
• Around 1kg, so it stays put once fitted
• Protects the piece of furniture the cat has already claimed

No published dimensions. The manufacturer lists the materials and nothing else, with no length, no width and no strap range, so we are not going to guess at them. Tell us the girth of the sofa arm or table leg you want wrapped and we will measure a pad against it before you order. Worth saying too: this protects one spot, so a cat with three favourite corners needs three of them.

Who it's for: Renters and anyone with a sofa they cannot afford to replace, cats who have already claimed a specific corner, and homes where a full-size post has nowhere to stand.
