The bag is never in the pocket you check first. A holder clipped to the lead solves that permanently: the roll lives on the lead itself, a fresh bag pulls out one at a time, and you stop leaving the house wondering whether you remembered. This one is moulded in soft silicone as an avocado, which is daft in a way that makes a thoroughly unglamorous errand slightly better.

Silicone is the right material for the job. It stays flexible in the cold rather than going brittle, it does not crack the way a hard plastic clip does after a winter of being knocked against gates and door frames, and it wipes clean instead of holding onto smells. The clip fixes it to a lead handle or a harness strap so it is not swinging into your dog's legs, and the dispensing slot feeds the roll one bag at a time instead of unspooling into your hand.

• Soft silicone body with a lead or harness clip
• Dispenses from a roll, one bag at a time
• Wipes clean without holding smells
• Four options: dispenser sets, a bag clip, and a boxed set
• Packed weight ranges from 80g to 190g depending on option

Check which option you are choosing. Packed size varies with it, which is why the figures above are given as a range rather than a single number.

Who it's for: Dog walkers who would rather not stop and rummage, and anyone who keeps discovering they have run out mid-walk.
