A rawhide chew works because it is tough, not because it tastes of anything much, and collagen chews exist as an alternative for owners who want the same staying power without rawhide itself.

Rosewood's Collagen Donut leads with collagen at 72%, followed by beef at 22%, with vegetable glycerin, plant fibre and cassava starch making up the rest. It comes out very high in protein — 80% — with crude fat at 4.5%, crude ash 5% and crude fibre 0.5%. Rosewood note that a preservative is used, without itemising which one.

• Collagen 72%, beef 22%, vegetable glycerin, plant fibre, cassava starch
• Crude protein 80%, crude fat 4.5%
• Crude ash 5%, crude fibre 0.5%, moisture 15%
• Suitable for all life stages
• 75G pack

On the name: it's sold as a beef donut, but collagen — not beef — is the majority ingredient at 72%, with beef itself making up 22%. Collagen is a connective-tissue protein rather than muscle meat, which is worth knowing if you were picturing a beef-first chew.

Who it's for: owners looking for a rawhide alternative built around collagen rather than a straightforward meat chew, for a dog of any life stage.
