Cats generally prefer something small enough to properly dominate over one large toy, which is the logic behind selling this as a set of three rather than a single catnip toy — more targets to pounce on and flick around the floor.

Rosewood's Battersea Daily Catch is a set of three catnip-stuffed fish, each embroidered in the Battersea range's brand colours, designed to keep a cat engaged as it pounces on and flicks the fish through the air.

• Set of three catnip fish
• Embroidered detailing in Battersea colours
• Filled with catnip
• Designed for pouncing and flicking play
• Part of the Battersea range

On the fine print. The card doesn't confirm a size for each fish or how the catnip is contained inside, so we cannot say how it holds up if a fish is chewed open rather than just batted around. Keep an eye on the toy for wear, as with any small stuffed toy a cat plays with directly in its mouth.

Who it's for: cat owners who want a multi-toy set for pouncing games rather than a single item, and anyone already buying into the Battersea range.
