Measure your pet from nose to base of tail while lying relaxed.
Add roughly 15–25 cm so they can stretch out fully.

Full description

The best seat in most houses is a windowsill, and most windowsills are the wrong depth for a cat to lie down on. Mounting on a bracket solves the depth problem without depending on suction cups: a wooden bracket carries the weight, and a padded bed with raised bolster sides sits on top of it, so a cat can lie full length with the view straight ahead of them.

Bolster sides do two jobs at height that they do not really do on the floor. They give a cat something to brace against, which matters far more a metre up than it does on a rug, and they hold body heat in around a sleeping cat sitting in the draught that every window has. The base is cushioned rather than a stretched sling, so it suits a cat who wants to sink into something instead of one who wants air moving underneath.
