Pet coats and jumpers are sized mainly by back length, with chest girth as a second check. Back length matters most for coverage.
How to measure
- Back length: measure along the spine from the base of the neck (collar area) to the base of the tail.
- Chest: measure around the widest part of the ribcage, behind the front legs.
- If the two measurements suggest different sizes, choose by back length and allow for the chest.

Novelty headwear is the shortest-lived thing in any pet wardrobe, and that is fine as long as you buy it knowing so. This wig sits on the head on an adjustable strap, holds long enough for a photograph, and then usually gets shaken off, which is the correct outcome. Five colours are stocked: blue, red, orange, silver and a natural shade.
The adjustable strap is what makes it usable across cats and dogs with different head sizes, and it is also the part to pay attention to. It wants to be snug enough that the wig does not slide down over the eyes and loose enough to slip a finger underneath, and it should never be tightened to keep a wig on an animal who is actively trying to remove it. A pet who freezes, shakes her head or backs away has told you she is finished.
