Pet coats and jumpers are sized mainly by back length, with chest girth as a second check. Back length matters most for coverage.
How to measure
- Back length: measure along the spine from the base of the neck (collar area) to the base of the tail.
- Chest: measure around the widest part of the ribcage, behind the front legs.
- If the two measurements suggest different sizes, choose by back length and allow for the chest.

Full description
Some costumes are for an evening and some are for a photograph, and this one is squarely the second. A hat and a set of bat wings give you the silhouette from any angle without asking your pet to wear a garment at all, which means the session can be two minutes long and still produce something worth keeping. Nothing fastens around the chest or the legs, so a pet who has had enough can simply walk out of the whole arrangement.
Three sizes are listed, all in black, which is more choice than most hat-and-wing sets offer and suggests it is meant to work on cats and on medium dogs rather than only the very smallest end. Black against a black cat disappears in a photograph, so if that is your animal, plan on a pale background or a lamp placed behind the camera rather than relying on a flash to pick out the shape.
