Full description

Chicken-led packaging is easier to judge when the complete meat declaration sits beside the named ingredient.

The product format is jerky-style dog treats. Pedigree labels PEDIGREE RANCHOS Originals Jerkies Dog Chew Treat Chicken Flavour as a complementary treat. The recipe declares 95% meat and animal derivatives, including 26% natural chicken. The remaining listed groups are minerals, oils and fats. The analysis gives protein at 41%, fat at 22%, crude fibre at 1% and moisture at 27%, with inorganic matter at 8%. The additives section separately declares preservatives. The 70G pack is complementary food, so it cannot replace a complete meal; its allowance belongs within the dog's overall intake. Fresh water is also required.

Why we chose it

The short recipe and 95% meat-and-animal-derivatives figure are the appeal. The chicken percentage stays prominent so the name cannot overstate it.
