Some owners choose meat-free treats for their dog for much the same reasons they'd choose them for themselves, and until fairly recently the pet aisle had very little to offer them.

This is a vegan chew built from sweet potato flour (48%) and rice flour (25%), with spinach powder and kale powder each making up 0.5% of the recipe. Each 120G pack holds 8 sticks. It's low in protein and fat, at 3% and 0.5% respectively, and it's suitable for puppies from 4 months as well as adult dogs of any size.

What's actually in the mix. This is not a grain-free chew, whatever "gluten free" on the front might suggest — corn starch and rice flour (25%) both appear in the composition. Pawtato haven't published anything beyond the ingredients and the nutritional panel above: no comparison to a meat-based treat, no calorie count, and no guidance on how many sticks make a sensible daily amount for a given size of dog.

Who it's for: owners choosing a meat-free treat for ethical or dietary reasons, for a puppy over 4 months or an adult dog of any size — not owners specifically after a grain-free option.
