The compartment lifts off. That is the part worth paying for, and it is the reason to choose this over a stroller that is only ever a stroller. You wheel an elderly or recovering dog to the vet, unclip the carrier, and carry them in — no lifting a dog out of a moving basket in a car park, no leaving the frame blocking a waiting room.

The rest is built around the same idea of getting out without a fight. Oxford fabric over a steel frame, a mesh window and zipped doors so they can see out and still get air, and 2.5cm of padding under them rather than bare board. Two adjustable safety leads inside stop a nervous dog leaping when something goes past. The front wheels swivel for kerbs and corners, the larger rear wheels take the bumps, and both rear wheels brake.

• For miniature and small dogs up to 10kg and 40cm in body length
• Opens to 81 x 58 x 97.5cm; frame folds to 78 x 58 x 27cm
• Carrier compartment 60 x 37 x 39cm, folding to 39 x 37 x 12cm
• Oxford fabric, steel frame, 6" front and 8" rear EVA wheels
• Two adjustable safety leads (26–51cm) and twin rear brakes
• Storage pouch, plus adjustable carry straps (60–118cm)

Check the measurement, not the breed. The 40cm limit is body length, nose to tail base, and it is the number that catches people out — a dog can be well under 10kg and still too long to lie comfortably. Measure along the spine while they are standing before you order.

Who it's for: Owners of older dogs who still want the walk but cannot manage the distance, dogs recovering from surgery, and anyone whose vet trip currently involves a carrier in one hand and a lead in the other.
