A dog that finds an antler too hard on their teeth is not necessarily a dog that wants a soft treat — often they just need something a little more forgiving in the same general category.

Paddock Farm's Camel Skin Braided chew is a novel protein, softer than an antler or bone but still built to last through a non-aggressive chewer's session rather than being gone quickly. It is sold at 30cm and has dental benefits from the chewing action itself, alongside the nutrients naturally present in the skin.

• 100% natural camel skin
• Novel protein — a genuine alternative for dogs sensitive to more common proteins
• Softer and more durable than antler or bone
• 30cm, braided
• Long lasting for non-aggressive chewers

One thing worth knowing. Paddock Farm pitch this specifically at non-aggressive chewers, so it is not the right choice for the same determined, hard-chewing dog an antler or hairy deer leg suits — a strong chewer may get through it faster than the "long lasting" description implies for a gentler one. Colour and shape vary piece to piece as a natural product, and pieces should be sized to your own dog.

Who it's for: owners of a dog with a known protein sensitivity looking for a novel option, and dogs that chew steadily rather than aggressively.
