Full description

A treat's name is chosen to make an owner pick it up, and reading past the name to the composition list is the only way to know if the promise matches the recipe.

This one is built from Chicken 75%, Pork 5%, Pork Blood 1%, sweet potato and minerals, coming out at 42.8% protein — a dried, sausage-style dog treat rather than anything approaching the human product it's named after.

Composition: Chicken 75%, Pork 5%, Pork Blood 1%, sweet potato, minerals
Protein 42.8%
Grain free and gluten free
1KG bag
Treats capped at no more than 10% of daily diet, per the maker's guidance
Not suitable for human consumption, per the label

On the name. 'Black Pudding' suggests the pork blood is doing most of the work, but the composition list puts Chicken at 75% and Pork Blood at only 1% — this is a chicken treat with a black pudding flavour note, not the other way round.

Who it's for: owners wanting a grain-free training or reward treat in a large 1KG bag, for a dog that already eats chicken without any problem.

Why we chose it

The name promises black pudding, but the composition list is honest about what's actually in the bag — three-quarters chicken, with the pork blood right at the bottom. A high protein figure and a 1KG bag make it a sensible size for a dog getting these regularly as training rewards.
