Full description

A novel protein is only useful for an elimination diet if it's genuinely single-ingredient, which rules out most treats sold under an exotic-sounding name but padded out with the usual fillers.

These are single-ingredient wild boar strips, 100% boar and nothing else, sold as a natural treat for training or dropping into an enrichment toy. Paddock Farm's analysis shows 37.9% crude protein and 23.4% crude fat, with a high crude ash figure of 25.21% and a notably low moisture content of 3.7%, making these one of the drier strips in the range.

100% wild boar, single ingredient
Crude protein 37.9%
Crude oils and fats 23.4%
Crude ash 25.21%
Moisture 3.7%, crude fibre 3.3%
Sold in a 500G pack

On the moisture content. At 3.7% moisture this is noticeably drier and crisper than a lot of dried meat treats, which affects texture more than nutrition — worth knowing if your dog prefers something with a bit more give to it.

Who it's for: owners after a genuinely single-protein novel treat, where boar hasn't already been fed and a dog needs a new option for an elimination diet.

Why we chose it

Boar is one of the less common proteins on a treat shelf, which makes it worth keeping around for a dog who reacts to the usual chicken, beef or lamb. Being single-ingredient means there's no filler to second-guess.
