A cat that is wet loses heat far faster than one that is merely cold, and a dry, sheltered box changes the odds for a garden visitor more than an extra bowl of food does. This one is built to be put out, used through the worst of the weather, and folded away again in spring without needing a shed to store it.
Panels of wipe-clean waterproof fabric clip together with no tools involved, and the roof is pitched rather than flat, so rain runs off instead of pooling and eventually working through the seam above the sleeping space. An entry opening lets a cat come and go entirely on their own terms, which is vital: a shelter with one exit that a cat cannot see out of reads as a trap, and it will be ignored.
