A determined chewer can get through a soft toy in minutes, which is the entire reason nylon chews exist as a separate category from the rest of the toy aisle rather than living alongside the plush ones.

This is Nylabone's Chew Stick in bacon flavour, sold in the XL size. It's made from a tough, durable nylon, described by Nylabone as designed with powerful chewers in mind, with a textured surface and long-lasting flavour running through it. Nylabone say it helps clean teeth and freshen breath as the dog chews, and this size is intended for dogs of 23kg and over.

On chew toys generally. No chew is indestructible, and nylon chews wear down rather than disappear, so it is worth checking this one periodically for sharp edges or pieces small enough to swallow, the same as with any hard chew. Nylabone do not publish an expected lifespan for the flavour or the stick itself.

Who it's for: owners of a large, powerful chewer - 23kg and up - who has already gone through softer chews too quickly and needs something built for that.
