A puppy weaned onto raw food is being introduced to ingredients an adult diet takes for granted, which is why a puppy-specific raw recipe tends to lean on more of the softer offal cuts than a standard adult one does.

This recipe is 31% turkey and 20% turkey heart, with 25% beef green tripe, 5% beef heart and 4% beef liver, plus apple, butternut squash, carrot, kelp, salmon oil, spinach and wheatgrass. It's grain-free, suitable for puppies from 8 weeks old, and stored frozen. It analyses at 13.9% protein, 6% fat, 0.4% fibre, 76.1% moisture, 0.4% calcium and 0.3% phosphorus.

On the moisture content. At 76.1% moisture this is a genuinely wet, raw-style food rather than anything resembling a kibble, which means it needs freezer space and a defrost routine rather than sitting in a cupboard until needed.

Who it's for: owners weaning a puppy from 8 weeks onto raw food, with freezer space and a fridge routine already in place.
