Full description
Cats sleep better with their backs covered, which is why they choose boxes, drawers and the gap behind the sofa over an open cushion in the middle of the room. An enclosed nest gives them walls on every side and a single round entrance, so a nervous or easily disturbed cat can curl up facing the only way in and finally stop monitoring the room while they rest.
Underneath the fortune-cat styling it is a reasonably serious bit of bedding: arctic velvet lining over PP cotton fill, set on a high-resilience sponge base. That base is the layer that stops the floor of the bed going flat and hard after a few weeks of the same cat landing in the same spot. The cushion lifts out, so the grubby part is the washable part, and at around half a kilo the whole thing moves room to room without thought.
