Full description

A tough chewer gets through a soft treat in seconds and a proper hide chew in minutes, and it's the minutes that matter if the point is to keep a dog occupied rather than just fed.

NAW's Wild Boar Skin is made from 100% pork — boar skin is pork by composition, whatever the name suggests — with nothing else added, and it's gluten and grain free. Protein runs high at 66.7%, with fat at 18.2%, moisture at 12% and ash at 5.67%. It's a chew rather than a meal, aimed at giving a dog's jaw and teeth something to work against.

100% pork (boar skin), single ingredient
Protein 66.7%, fat 18.2%, moisture 12%, ash 5.67%
Gluten and grain free
1kg bag
Suitable for dogs over 4 months
Sold as a dental chew for tough chewers

Worth naming. "Wild Boar" describes the animal, not a wild-caught origin claim — the composition is stated simply as 100% pork, and NAW give us nothing about the animal's origin beyond that. As with any hide-type chew, supervise a determined chewer and keep fresh water down alongside it, which is NAW's own instruction.

Who it's for: owners of a dog over 4 months old who chews hard and needs something that lasts, and anyone specifically avoiding grain-based chews.

Naw Wild Boar Skin

Why we chose it

A single-ingredient chew is the easiest thing to recommend to someone worried about what's in a treat, because there's genuinely only one thing to check. At 66.7% protein it also sits well above most biscuit-style treats, which matters if chews are a meaningful part of the day rather than an afterthought.
