Full description

Chews aimed at joint health tend to lean on glucosamine and chondroitin added as supplements to something else — this one gets there from the ingredient itself, which is a different way of arriving at the same claim.

NAW's Beef Moon Bone is made from 100% beef, described as packed with collagen, glucosamine and chondroitin as part of the beef itself rather than as an added supplement. The analysis is protein 76.78%, fat 5.79%, moisture 4.67% and ash 11.53%, and it's gluten and grain free. It's a chew rather than a food, aimed at working the jaw and keeping teeth clear of plaque.

100% beef, single ingredient
Protein 76.78%, fat 5.79%, moisture 4.67%, ash 11.53%
Gluten and grain free
1kg bag
Suitable for dogs over 4 months
Marketed as a dental chew, tough on plaque

Worth naming. NAW describe collagen, glucosamine and chondroitin as present because of what beef moon bone naturally contains, not as separately added supplements with a stated dose — so there's no milligram figure behind that claim on this listing, and it shouldn't be relied on as a substitute for a dedicated joint supplement if that's specifically what's needed.

Who it's for: owners of a dog over 4 months who chews hard, want a single-ingredient chew, and like the idea of a joint-supporting ingredient built in rather than sprayed on.

Naw Beef Moon Bone

Why we chose it

One ingredient and one very high protein figure is an easy thing to stand behind, and 76.78% is genuinely near the top of what we stock in this category. It sits in the same range as our other single-ingredient chews, so it's an easy swap for a dog that's bored of the wild boar version.
