Full description

Lamb on its own can be a rich starting point for a dog new to raw feeding, so pairing it with a larger share of chicken is a reasonable way to introduce it without going all in on the richer meat straight away.

This is a 60% lamb, 40% chicken raw mince from Natures Menu's Home Prepare range, designed to be mixed and matched with the range's other single-protein minces. Protein is 15%, fat 13%, ash 5%, fibre 0.5% and moisture 65%, giving 183kcal per 100g. No additives are listed.

On the ratio. Lamb is the larger share here at 60% against 40% chicken, the opposite balance to Natures Menu's chicken-and-rabbit mince in the same range. Worth checking which way round the ratio runs if lamb specifically needs to stay a minority ingredient for a particular dog.

Who it's for: raw feeders wanting a lamb-forward mince with chicken as the smaller share, or dogs already on chicken being introduced to lamb.

Natures Menu Lamb & Chicken Mince

Why we chose it

Lamb and chicken together lets a raw feeder introduce a richer meat gradually rather than switching a dog onto pure lamb mince outright. It slots into the same Home Prepare range as the other single and mixed proteins, so it mixes easily with what's already in the freezer.
