Full description

Chicken is usually the first protein a raw feeder tries, partly because most dogs tolerate it well and partly because a single-ingredient chicken mince makes it obvious whether a reaction, if there is one, is actually to the chicken itself.

This is 100% chicken, with no additives, from Natures Menu's Home Prepare range of single-protein minces built for mixing and matching. Protein is 14%, fat 7%, ash 4%, fibre 0.5% and moisture 74%, giving an energy value of 121kcal per 100g.

On the fat content. At 7%, this sits on the leaner side for a raw mince. Worth factoring in if a dog needs a lower-fat protein specifically, or if you're rotating between proteins and want to keep overall fat intake fairly level.

Who it's for: dogs starting raw feeding for the first time, or anyone running an elimination diet where chicken is the protein being tested.

Natures Menu Just Chicken Mince

Why we chose it

A single-ingredient chicken mince is usually the first thing a raw feeder reaches for, so it needs to be reliably in stock. Being the leanest option in the range also makes it the sensible starting point for a dog with no known sensitivities yet.
