Full description

Raw feeding lives or dies on freezer space, so a mince that covers two proteins in one bag is one less tub taking up room next to a chicken-only and a separate rabbit-only pack.

This is a 70% chicken, 30% rabbit raw mince from Natures Menu's Home Prepare range, which is built around mixing single proteins to suit an individual dog rather than committing to one fixed recipe. Protein sits at 15%, fat at 8%, ash at 5%, fibre at 0.5% and moisture at 71%, with an energy value of 134kcal per 100g. No additives are listed.

On the ratio. Rabbit gets equal billing in the name, but it's genuinely the smaller share at 30% against 70% chicken. That matters if the reason for choosing this is a specific reaction to one protein or the other — a dog with a rabbit sensitivity is still getting rabbit here, just less of it than the name might suggest.

Who it's for: raw feeders building a mixed-protein rotation who want a gentle two-protein pairing, particularly a dog that already does fine on chicken and is being introduced to rabbit in a minority share.

Natures Menu Chicken & Rabbit Mince

Why we chose it

A two-protein mince is useful for anyone building a raw rotation without buying five separate tubs, and chicken with a smaller share of rabbit is a gentle pairing to start on. Natures Menu have made raw mince since 1981, so it's not a format the brand is new to.
