Joint stiffness in an older dog often shows up first as reluctance — slower on stairs, hesitant to jump into the car — rather than obvious pain, which is why owners tend to reach for a joint supplement before a vet visit rather than after.

Natural Vetcare's Comfort Oil is a high-strength omega-3 supplement, with EPA and DHA making up 60% of the oil, sourced from marine microalgae rather than fish. It's aimed at supporting joints and flexibility in active and ageing dogs, alongside claimed support for cognitive sharpness, retinal function, blood flow and kidney health. It comes in a 100ml bottle.

On dosing. Natural Vetcare's description doesn't give a daily amount or a dosing method on the facts we hold — check the bottle itself, and speak to a vet if your dog has an existing joint condition rather than general age-related stiffness.

Who it's for: owners of an older or active dog who want a joint supplement, and prefer a marine-microalgae source of omega-3 over a fish oil.
