Size guide & how to measure
A good bed lets your dog stretch out and curl up. Measure your dog nose-to-tail while they’re lying down, then add room to move.
How to measure
- Measure your dog from nose to base of tail while lying relaxed.
- Add roughly 15–25 cm so they can stretch out fully.
- For pets that like to curl, you can size down slightly for a snug, den-like feel.
| Size | Typical internal length | Rough guide |
|---|---|---|
| S | up to ~50 cm | toy & small breeds |
| M | ~50–70 cm | Small–medium dogs |
| L | ~70–90 cm | Medium–large dogs |
| XL | 90 cm + | Large & giant breeds |
Ranges are approximate and vary by style. Always check this product’s Specifications for its exact dimensions.
Full description
A plastic bed is a frame for whatever bedding you put in it, and the reason to choose one is that it wipes clean. Muddy paws, a wet coat or an accident come off with warm soapy water, which no fabric bed can promise.
Moderna's Domus is moulded from over 98% recycled plastic and is BPA-free. Slots in the base let air move under the bedding, a raised edge gives a dog something to rest its head on, and rubber feet stop it sliding on a hard floor. This listing is the warm grey colour in five sizes.
- Sizes: Small, Medium, Large, Jumbo and Giant
- Over 98% recycled plastic, BPA-free
- Ventilation slots in the base
- Raised edge and rubber feet
- Wipe clean with warm soapy water
Measure the inside, not the outside. The walls take up room, so the space your dog lies in is smaller than the bed's footprint. Measure your dog lying flat, nose to base of tail, and choose a size whose inside length is longer than that.
Who it's for: owners who want a bed that cleans in seconds: puppies, older dogs with the odd accident, and dogs who come in wet.

On: Giant
She loves it. So important to have a bed big enough. This was the one of the few places I could find that stocks and ships extra large beds. She rejected three previous beds that I bought from Pets at Home. She needed something comfortable and this is!
