Vertical space does more for an indoor cat than another toy ever will. Height is where they feel safe, where they can watch a room without being in it, and where a nervous cat goes when the doorbell rings. This flower-shaped perch adds that height in a small footprint, with soft fleece platforms cut like petals and a sisal-wrapped post running up through the middle of them.

The fleece covering is the real point of difference: cats will sit on bare board, but they choose fabric, and a perch that is not chosen is just furniture. The sisal post gives them somewhere to scratch on the way up, which tends to keep claws off the platform edges. A bracket supports the structure and holds the perch clear of the floor, so it works as a resting spot and a lookout rather than a scratching post with a lid.

• Flower-shaped platforms finished in soft fleece
• Sisal-wrapped post for scratching
• Raised clear of the floor on a supporting bracket
• Gives indoor cats vertical space and a lookout
• Works alongside an existing cat tree or scratcher
• Wipes clean

Two things worth knowing. And a big, heavy cat needs a perch that does not shift underfoot, so if yours is a solid adult, tell us and we will be straight about whether this is the right buy.

Who it's for: Indoor cats short of high places, in homes where a full floor-standing cat tree simply will not fit.
