Full description
Most cat litters on a UK shelf are one of a handful of familiar clays, which makes a genuinely different mineral source - and a different look in the tray - worth knowing about if your cat has never quite settled on the usual options. Kittyfriend Pink uses Danish Moler clay rather than the more common Sepiolite or bentonite.
It is a natural mineral, non-clumping litter, and the Moler clay itself is what gives the granules their distinctive pink-tinted colour rather than an added dye. Sanicat describe it as highly absorbent, with time-release odour control built into the mineral itself rather than a sprayed-on fragrance.
- Danish Moler clay, giving the litter its distinctive colour
- Non-clumping formula
- Highly absorbent
- Time-release odour control
- 30 litre bag
On the trade-off. Being non-clumping means used litter cannot be scooped out in solid pieces the way a clumping litter allows - most owners on a non-clumping mineral litter change the tray as a whole rather than spot-cleaning daily, which is a different routine to get used to if you are switching from a clumping product.
Who it's for: owners who want to try a different mineral base to the usual clumping clays, and are happy with a change-the-whole-tray routine rather than daily scooping.

Why we chose it
Danish Moler clay is a genuinely different mineral to the clumping clays most litters use, which makes it worth stocking for cats that are fussy about texture or scent. The time-release odour control built into the mineral itself, rather than sprayed on top, is also a detail worth having.
