How to measure
- Wrap a soft tape around the base of the neck.
- Add room for two fingers between the tape and the neck.
- Use that measurement to pick a size whose range it falls within.

Full description
Between October and March most dog walks happen in the dark, and a dog twenty metres ahead off the lead is effectively invisible to a car turning into a lane. This collar glows once it has been charged by daylight or a lamp, which puts a moving band of light around the neck with no batteries, no switch and nothing to remember to turn on before you leave the house.
It is also sold as an insect-repellent collar. Treat any insect deterrence as a bonus you may or may not notice. The band itself is a soft composite with a buckle fastening, made in two lengths.

Two things worth knowing. The glow fades over a couple of hours and needs light to recharge, so it is a visibility aid for the walk rather than an all-night beacon. And it is not flea or tick control — keep your pet on whatever treatment your vet recommends. However you fit it, a collar should sit loosely enough to slide two fingers underneath, and carry an ID tag with your name and address, which is a legal requirement in a public place in the UK.
