A published size table is rarer than it should be in pet knitwear, and it is the main reason to choose this one. Every size carries a bust range and a back length in centimetres, so you can measure the animal standing in front of you and buy the right thing first time, instead of ordering two sizes and posting one of them back in January.

The knit is acrylic with a high collar covering the throat, which is where a cat or a fine-coated dog loses heat fastest. Seven designs are made - Christmas tree deer in red and in sky blue, scarf deer in red and blue, grey snowman, wine-red deer and glasses deer - and the shape is the same in all of them, so pick on the pattern and let the table decide the size.

On sizing: measure the back from the collar to the base of the tail and treat that as the deciding figure, then check the girth behind the front legs falls inside the bust range. Those bust ranges overlap heavily between sizes, so an animal sitting between two should go up. A jumper slightly long is comfortable; a jumper slightly short rides up behind the front legs and rubs.
