A teaser on a stick keeps a cat's claws away from your hand, which is worth more to most owners than any shape on the end of it.

This one is a fish-shaped head trailing feathers, fixed to a stick you hold and move, with catnip worked into the toy to hold a cat's attention once the initial chase has worn off. Hemm & Boo make it in green, orange and pink, so it can match — or clash with — whatever else is in the room.

• Fish-shaped teaser head with trailing feathers
• Catnip included to encourage interactive play
• Sold in green, orange or pink
• Single teaser per pack
• Stick-and-string design for hands-off play

What the label does not say. No length is given for the stick or the trailing feathers, and no material is specified beyond fish and feather — so if you need it to fit a small storage box, there is nothing here to measure against.

Who it's for: owners who want an interactive toy that keeps their fingers out of reach of claws, and cats that respond better to a moving target than a toy left on the floor.
