An advent calendar for a cat only works if the treat behind each door is small enough to be one day's worth rather than a windfall, and it's the breakable format here that actually solves that rather than the calendar theme itself.

Hatchwells' calendar is made from a yoghurt and catnip mix — catnip at 3% — sweetened with sugar and non-hydrogenated vegetable oil, with milk and whey solids and dried yoghurt, using sunflower lecithin as an emulsifier. Each treat is breakable into four bite-size pieces, so one calendar can stretch further, or several cats in the house can share a door. It's made in GB.

• Yoghurt and catnip treat, catnip at 3%
• Each piece breaks into four bite-size portions
• Protein 4.1%, crude ash 2.4%, moisture 2.0%
• Made in GB
• Advent calendar format

On the analysis. Hatchwells' figures show crude fibres at 4.6% and crude oils and fats at 38.4% on the additive listing, alongside the protein, ash and moisture figures above — a fat content that high marks this out clearly as a treat rather than anything to feed as a meaningful part of the diet, however small each door's portion is.

Who it's for: owners marking Christmas with their cat in a small, low-effort way, and multi-cat households who like that each treat splits into four.
