A novelty-shaped toy earns a place at Christmas precisely because it's a bit different from the everyday plush shapes on the shelf the rest of the year, which is really all the "Highland cow" character here is doing — giving a seasonal toy its own identity.

This is Hettie the Highland Cow, sold as a single toy in our Christmas toy category. Beyond the character name and that it's sold individually, the makers have not given us a material, a measurement, or a care instruction for it.

• Highland cow character, named "Hettie"
• Sold as a single toy
• Part of our Christmas toy range
• Made for dogs

what the makers haven't told us. No fabric, dimensions or washing guidance has been supplied for this toy, so beyond the character and that it's a Christmas-range item, there's little else here to check against before buying.

Who it's for: owners looking for a seasonal, character-themed toy for a dog's Christmas rather than a plain, everyday shape.
