Woven furniture reads as furniture rather than pet equipment, which is most of why people choose it, but the weave matters far more than the look. There are two of them here and they behave completely differently in a British house: PE imitation rattan, which is plastic and wipes clean, and woven kraft paper, which is paper and does not. Choosing between them is the whole decision.

The structure is the same either way, an enclosed bed on top raised on chunky sisal-wrapped posts, with an open basket bed below, both fitted with soft plush cushions. Splitting the sleeping into two levels lets a cat pick between hidden and visible depending on the day, and the sisal on the uprights means the climb between them doubles as the scratching post, so one footprint covers three jobs.

• Choice of PE imitation rattan or woven kraft paper
• Top bed shaped as a hemisphere dome, a full sphere or an open basket
• White or brown
• Chunky sisal-wrapped posts between the levels
• Soft plush cushion in each bed
• Twelve combinations of weave, bed shape and colour

On the weave, and on the name. Kraft paper is genuinely paper: handsome, lighter, and no friend of a damp utility room or a cat who shreds things. PE rattan takes a wipe and a knock.

Who it's for: Owners who want the cat bed and the scratching post to be one object, and that object to be something they are happy to have in the sitting room.
