Full description

The percentage on the front of a treat bag and the percentage inside the ingredient list don't always agree, so it's worth checking the second one before deciding how good a deal the first one is.

Here they do agree: duck breast is listed at 79% of the recipe, with rice, vegetable glycerin, tapioca starch, wheat flour, pea protein and salt making up the rest. Good Boy's own analysis gives crude protein at 32% and fat at 3%.

Choose a treat size appropriate to your dog's age and breed

On the ingredients. This one contains wheat flour, which some other treats in the Good Boy range explicitly avoid - if you're buying for a dog with a known wheat sensitivity, this isn't the wheat-free option in the line-up.

Who it's for: owners of dogs over 4 months old, without a wheat sensitivity, who want a high-meat-content duck treat.

Good Boy Duck & Rice Sticks

Why we chose it

Seventy-nine percent duck breast is a genuinely high meat content for a treat stick, and duck tends to suit dogs that don't get on with chicken. It's a straightforward, short-ingredient option rather than one dressed up with superfoods and marketing.
