On the rawhide content. A third of this treat, 33%, is rawhide — the chewy texture comes from that, not from the chicken breast alone. Give it under supervision on a surface that won't stain, as the maker themselves advise, and be aware that a rawhide piece coming apart is a choking risk the same as with any rawhide product.

Who it's for: owners of a dog over 4 months old who chews steadily and can be supervised with a rawhide-based treat.

Why we chose it

Protein at 76% is unusually high for a treat, which is what the rawhide and chicken breast combination gives you. It's worth knowing exactly what's in a 'chicken' treat before handing it over, and the composition here is upfront about the rawhide share.
