A rawhide-free chew has to prove itself on texture, because rawhide's whole appeal was durability, and a softer alternative needs to be genuinely worth chewing rather than just a safer label on the front of the bag.

Good Boy's Chewables have an inner layer of chicken breast and peanut butter, and an outer layer made with sweet potato, carrot and pea powder. Chicken breast makes up 24.2% of the recipe and peanut butter 3.3%, alongside cornstarch, glycerin, sorbitol, fructose, maltodextrin, gelatin, corn syrup and salt. The analysis is protein 12%, crude fibre 0.2% and crude ash 2.0%, and they're rawhide free with a soft, chewy texture meant to be gentle on teeth and gums while still giving a dog something to work at.
