How to measure
- Wrap a soft tape around the base of the neck.
- Add room for two fingers between the tape and the neck.
- Use that measurement to pick a size whose range it falls within.

Full description
Four o'clock in December and the dog is a dark shape twenty metres away across the common. A lit collar answers that, and it answers the more serious version of it too: a dog that slips its lead near a road is found far more quickly when it is glowing. This one lights the whole band rather than blinking from a single clip-on unit hanging under the chin.
The band is polyester, and the width is the specification that matters most. XXS is 1.5cm and XS is 2.0cm, which is the difference between a collar sitting properly on a Chihuahua and one propping up its chin. There are two families in the range, standard and rechargeable, and eight light colours, of which red and white carry furthest in poor visibility whilst blue and green photograph better.
