Cats do most of their hunting practice in enclosed spaces, which is why a cardboard box out-performs an expensive toy most weeks. This pop-up tent gives that instinct something more durable to work with: cut-out entrances at either end, a shell that holds its own shape, and enough room inside to lie down properly once the pouncing is out of their system.

It is a sprung fabric build rather than a rigid one, so it twists down flat and springs back up again, and it weighs little enough to carry from the living room to a bedroom when the household gets loud. The fish shape is doing more than decorating. The tapered tail end gives a narrower, darker corner than a plain cube does, and a nervous cat will almost always choose the tightest part of any hide.

• Fish tent measures 51cm wide x 51cm deep x 46cm high
• Cut-out entrances at both ends
• Folds flat for storage or travel
• Lightweight sprung fabric construction
• Pastel colourway

One thing worth knowing. What is sold on this page is the fish tent on its own.

Who it's for: Cats who go to ground when visitors arrive, and playful cats who want somewhere to ambush from.
