A cat has no idea it is Christmas. The stocking is for the person hanging it up, and there is nothing wrong with that as long as everyone is honest about who the present is really for — the cat's contribution is to eat three or four pieces and go back to sleep on the wrapping paper.

Inside are three bags of different textures and recipes, 170g in total. Goody Bag Original runs 35.5% protein and 19.5% fat, with meat and animal derivatives of which 8% chicken, 2% liver and 0.2% turkey. Tasty Nuggets is the richest of the three at 42% protein and 17% fat, with meat and animal derivatives at 50%, of which 19% chicken and 4% duck. Winter Mix matches the Original's analysis and adds dried cranberry juice at 0.12%, equivalent to 1.4% fresh cranberry juice.

On the turkey, and on how much of this is one day's eating. The festive part is thin on the label: turkey is 1.4% of the Winter Mix and 0.2% of the Goody Bag Original, so this is Felix's usual treat range in seasonal packaging rather than a Christmas dinner. More usefully, Felix cap an adult 4kg cat at 13g a day — roughly 35 pieces — and say to adjust the main meal accordingly, which means a 170g stocking is a fortnight of treats and not a morning of them. The listing's data also records the pack count as 35; that is the daily piece count from the feeding guide, not what is in the bag.

Who it's for: someone who wants the cat included in Christmas morning without spending real money on it, and who is happy to ration a stocking across the whole holiday rather than the day.
