A kitten's stomach is a fraction of an adult cat's, which is why a growing kitten eats little and often rather than two large meals a day — the feeding guide on a kitten food usually reflects that far more than the flavour does.

This box holds four recipes — beef, chicken, tuna and salmon — with a chunkier bite than FELIX's standard jelly pouches, the chunky pieces making up 44-50% of the pouch depending on recipe. It is formulated for kittens through their first year, and FELIX also state it is suitable for pregnant or lactating queens. FELIX name the specific meat or fish at 4% of the recipe for beef, tuna and salmon, and 8% for chicken.

• 12 pouches per box, 85g each

• Chunky pieces make up 44-50% of the pouch, depending on recipe
• For kittens, and suitable for pregnant or lactating queens
• Moisture 77.5%, protein 13.5%, fat content 2.8%

What the label doesn't say. The named meat or fish is 4% of the recipe (8% for chicken), but FELIX do not specify what the rest of each recipe's "meat and animal derivatives" or "fish and fish derivatives" actually is. A kitten's precise daily amount also changes fast across the growth stages FELIX list, so check your kitten's current weight against the chart rather than an earlier one.

Who it's for: a growing kitten from 8 weeks through to a year old, or a queen who is pregnant or feeding a litter and needs a more energy-dense diet.
