Most dogs eating a complete commercial food do not need a multivitamin, and we would rather say so plainly. Where these earn their place is around the edges of that: a fussy eater who leaves half a bowl, a dog moved onto home-cooked meals, a senior whose appetite has dropped off, or a recovery period where a vet has suggested topping things up. If your dog cleans a bowl of complete food twice a day, spend the money on something else.

Speak to your vet first. Fat-soluble vitamins build up rather than flushing through, so doubling a supplement on top of an already complete diet can do harm rather than good.
