Pet coats and jumpers are sized mainly by back length, with chest girth as a second check. Back length matters most for coverage.
How to measure
- Back length: measure along the spine from the base of the neck (collar area) to the base of the tail.
- Chest: measure around the widest part of the ribcage, behind the front legs.
- If the two measurements suggest different sizes, choose by back length and allow for the chest.

Full description
Dogs shed heat by panting and through their paws, and neither works well once the air itself is warm. Anything that pulls heat off the body directly buys them time on a hot day, which is what a cooling vest is for. Laid over the back and sides it sits against the largest surface area on the dog and draws warmth out of it while they walk.
It is cut light so it does not add insulation where it is meant to be removing it, and shaped to stay put on a moving dog rather than sliding round the ribs after a hundred metres. Reflective detailing runs across it, which is genuinely useful given the hours you should be walking in a heatwave, early morning and after sunset, both of them low light. A ring takes a lead without a separate harness.
