A loose dog in a car is a hazard to itself and to everyone sitting in front of it, and most small dogs travel badly anyway. They slide about on the upholstery, they cannot see out of the window, and they arrive wound up. A raised booster addresses both halves of that at once, lifting a small dog high enough to see the world go past while holding them in one place as the car moves.

The shell is quilted and finished in a waterproof, stain-resistant fabric, and that is the part that earns its keep after a wet walk or a nervous journey. Mud, drool and hair stay in the seat rather than working into your upholstery, and it wipes down instead of needing a valet. Mesh runs up the sides so air moves through and your dog keeps a view out, and an internal tether clips to a harness so they cannot climb out at a junction.

• Waterproof, stain-resistant quilted construction
• Raised mesh side panels
• Internal safety tether
• Sits on the back seat
• One size, listed as Large, in black or grey

Two things worth knowing. Ask before you order and we will get the measurements in writing. Separately, a tether restrains a dog, it does not crash-test them, and it is no substitute for a crash-tested harness or crate.

Who it's for: Owners of small dogs who currently slide around the back seat, in cars where the upholstery still matters.
