A cat who wants the windowsill and a windowsill nine centimetres deep is a problem most flats have. This fixes to the glass itself on heavy-duty suction cups, so the sunny spot your cat keeps trying to balance on becomes an actual bed with room to sprawl, and the floor underneath stays clear, which is the other half of the problem in a small home.

The tray is transparent, and that is the reason to choose it over a fabric hammock: the view works in both directions, so your cat can watch the street below through the base rather than only the sky. Suction holds by air pressure, which means it grips well on clean, dry, smooth glass and badly on anything textured, dusty or running with condensation. The cushion lifts out and the whole perch detaches, so you can move it to whichever window gets the afternoon sun.

• Cloud-shaped perch that mounts directly to glass on heavy-duty suction cups
• Transparent tray so your cat can see down as well as out
• Three finishes: transparent coffee, fully transparent, transparent green
• Detaches for cleaning or for moving to a sunnier window
• Soft cushioned platform on top of the tray
• Frees floor space in flats and smaller rooms

Two things worth knowing. Suction is only as good as the glass and the check you give it, so mount on clean dry glass, press each cup home, and re-seat them every few weeks. And a window perch does not suit every cat: heavy, elderly or unsteady cats are safer on something floor-standing.

Who it's for: Indoor cats in flats and smaller homes with a decent sunny window, and owners who have run out of floor to give up.
