Product description

Four 15g sachets of flavour powder, one per recipe, to stir through a dog's normal dinner. Chicken and beetroot, fish and orange, duck and sweet potato, and a plain chicken with chlorella in it. Sixty grams in total, so this is a four-night novelty rather than a store cupboard staple.

Every recipe starts with a hydrolysed protein, which is protein broken down into small fragments. That is what makes these smell strong enough to change a dog's mind about a bowl they had walked away from. Two of the four, the chicken ones, also carry poultry fat, sugars and the antioxidants BHA and propyl gallate. The fish and the duck recipes are noticeably shorter lists with neither.

4 x 15g sachets, 60g total
Hydrolysed chicken, fish or duck protein first in every recipe
Complementary food, fed over a complete diet
Stir through or drizzle over the usual meal

Two of the four contain BHA and propyl gallate, and two do not. Those are synthetic antioxidants that appear in the chicken and beetroot and the plain chicken sachets but not in the fish or duck ones. If you avoid BHA, this box is not for you, and the difference is only visible if you read all four compositions rather than one.

Who it's for: a dog going through a fussy patch, where a different smell on the same food is the difference between eating and not.

Why we chose it

Toppers usually hide behind the word 'natural' and print nothing. This box prints all four compositions in full, which is how we noticed that two of them are cleaner than the other two. We would rather sell something that lets you make that call yourself.

Common questions

Can this replace a meal?

No. It is a complementary food and the pack says to use it alongside a normal complete diet.

How do I use a sachet?

Open it and mix it through the usual meal or drizzle it over the top. One sachet is 15g.

Are all four recipes the same apart from flavour?

No. The two chicken recipes contain poultry fat, sugars, BHA, propyl gallate and citric acid. The fish and duck recipes contain none of those.

What is hydrolysed protein?

Protein broken into smaller fragments. It is what gives these their strength of smell, which is the whole reason a topper works on a fussy dog.

How long does delivery take?

Your estimated delivery date is shown above and updates automatically. UK orders are sent tracked — standard delivery is £2.99, and free on orders over £39.

How do I track my order?
